The Crate and the Good
4 GoodGymers made their way 3.6km to help the Barnsley Churches Drop-In Project in Barnsley.

We had a short run to our monthly session at the Barnsley Churches Drop-in Project where Peter and his cohort were already busy distributing items to the homeless.
This month we had several tasks to help with:
- We were 'sorting favour' by sorting donated toiletries into crates depending on their type; shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc. Some of these were open which led to some sweet smelling sticky slimy hands.
- Michelle made some very sweet hot chocolates (with 3 sugars added to every cup!). We're sweet enough already, but the hot chocs evidently are not!
- Goody two-shoes's Kirsty and Celine made up 60 goody-bags ready to be given out at the door. They risked it for the biscuits.
- Clothes-horse James went back and forth to the lock-up over the road to transport the bin bags of clothes from there into the main building. They will be sorted at a later date, perhaps by us!
After a busy task we said our goodbyes and headed off to do our planned fitness session in our favourite pocket park, Sparrow Park. Each person picked a card with a designated exercise on it and a number of repetitions, with a handy hand-drawn diagram showing how it should be performed. After completing the exercise on a card a lap of the small park was ran. We continued until all cards had been used. The cards consisted of the following: - Squat thrusts x5 - Back corner lunges x5 - Side leg-ups x10 - Lunges x10 - Star jumps x5 - Tricep dips x10 - Butterfly sit-ups x10 - Squats x10 - Press-ups x10
When we had all done the exercises it was time to stretch with the help of the handy little standing shelter. Some advanced stretching was led by stretchy-lady Celine along with the standard set which we usually do.
Stretched off we all went on our merry ways.
