Report written by Tim Dickson
I just love the way these damp Mondayโs turn to laughs and smiles as the gang arrive and sign in for our Monday run and good deed.
Tonight we had two teams as usual. The walkers, and the runners. We headed out to our friends at the Bexley Hospice shop on the Bexleyheath high street. As the walkers made a direct route, Susan lead the runners on a longer loop round. With Sarah looking out for the middle and me holding up the back everyone was in safe hands.
On arrival we were greeted with a massive smile from Chris the manager who waited for us this evening even though he had a bad cold, however that didn't stop him from handing us the mops to get cleaning though ๐
This week it was the runners who beat the walkers to the destination, much to their discussed. The mutters under their breathes were something like " we'll beat them next week!!! Bring it on walkers.............
After around 45 minutes of hard work it was time to say our good byes. But in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, โwe'll be back!!โ
So tonights round up. We cleaned, checked donations, hung clothes, priced items and run and power walked like proโs ๐๐ป
So as usual i'd like to finish off with a big thanks to all the team for coming out every Monday and smashing it. To all the gang from Bexley Mencap, Matt, Chris and Emanuel who come every week, take part in both the walking and running groups and work endlessly on the tasks they are given. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!
Till next week gang ๐๐ป
