Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
6 Goodgymmers braved the downpour and got stuck into a task and 3k run
After a day of non-stop rain the streets of Haringey had turned to rivers. It was still pouring outside and Varon was worried he was going to have to do the task on his own. But gradually five bedraggled-looking runners arrived at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, proving that GoodGym Haringey is hardcore! As Clare pointed out, it's only water.
Then came the news that the task previously arranged was a wash out and had been cancelled. Varon discovered this less that an hour before the meet. This put a bit of a damper on things. However, Varon went with the flow and managed to line up another task in record time despite the weather - water hero! The lovely Sandra at the Living Under One Sun dropped everything to welcome us back to their community allotment.
Bang on 7pm the rain stopped and the runners got ready to runoff in the opposite direction from originally planned. On the way there we passed an actual drowned rat - ewww.
Sandra gave us wheelbarrows, forks and gloves and got us weeding between rows of corn and squash. In almost no time we had it nicely tidied up, remarking that next time we would have to bring our head torches as it's starting to get dark in the evenings!
Because of the weather we cut the circuits short, stopping on the way to do some some reverse dips and press ups before arriving back at Tottenham Green Leisure to stretch our gastrocnemius (calf) and other muscles.
Satisfied and stretched out, the runners said their goodbyes and took their soggy bottoms home to watch Bake Off.
