Tonight 6 GoodGymer's joined the Friends of Bowthorpe Community Centre to help out at their beautiful community garden.

Shout out to Fu-Fu who joined us for the first time, well done on your first Good Deed! He did say he signed up to GoodGym because he wanted to join a 'adults' group...be careful what you wish for!

Sally and the Friends introduced themselves, and explained what needed doing for tonights task. As there were 6 of us we were able to work in pairs, while still managing to chat at a social distance. Ian & Elizabeth took some brushes and paint to continue the work Ian had started a few weeks ago, painting the tall Pergola at one end of the garden. This week we even got to use a step ladder. Fu-Fu and Brad got stuck in cutting back the bushes and racking the grass. That left Andy and Kamilla to trim 2 sides of the main grass area with perfect precision, whilst collecting up any weeds and clearing it all away in wheelbarrows.

In a flash the hour was over, and what a difference it made! With new paint and lovely clean lines along the lawn, all that was left was to pose for our group photo - and tuck into the yummy fruit and biscuits!

Thanks for having us, we'll back there soon I'm sure.
