Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
It was a wet Saturday for our second Good Gym cycle ride. Four brave souls (the weather didn’t dampen their enthusiasm!) turned out and followed ride leader Pru up the Gloucester Road to help Dale and friends at Growing Support, who were at Humpry Repton House, a home for patients with dementia.
Going for the ‘quality not quantity approach’, we had three tasks; build two raised beds to allow the patients to garden at wheelchair height, shift a MASSIVE amount of soil to fill the raised beds, and lug some disused pallets to another part of the garden for their next project.
In 45 frenetic minutes, we almost completed all the tasks – the pallets were shifted, only a scattering of soil remained to be moved, and the raised beds just needed some membrane lining before they could be filled.
Well done, Caroline, Nick, Pru and Lisa!
