Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Danny
“The farm of the sons of Toca” - that’s what Tokyngton means apparently, the location of our Mission today. It was Brent's first Mission in six months and sure enough, there was plenty of catching-up to do.
Our host’s front and back gardens had gotten a bit out of hand, so we were glad to get stuck in whilst working on our suntans. 😜
A neighbour came to introduce himself and offer us some more tools which was very handy. He had helped arrange us being there, and is an old friend of Hammersmith&FulhamGG trainer Polly (HOLLA!!) He furnished us with some much better tools, including this vicious medieval-looking thing that was perfect for getting between the paving.
There were plenty of weeds to tackle, but not far below the surface was a really lovely garden of roses, peonies and calla lilies. The soil was nice and soft which is a rare treat given the weather we've been having.
With the paving and path clear, and the very tall weeds in the beds now almost filling the garden waste bin, we bounced. Our hope is GG will be back soon to take care of the back garden.
