Gwyn and Tracey joined a group of other volunteers and the countryside rangers at Elvaston Castle to act as stewards for the Shine a Light art installation.
We were on car park duty, guiding the drivers into the park and around the one-way system. We were very fortunate that the rain kept off, but after about an hour of marshalling, the fog descended! Thankfully this didn't spoil the experience for the visitors, who all seemed to be impressed by the event.
Once things had quietened down, we got the chance to see the show - colourful images projected onto the castle's south front.
We didn't add a fitness activity to this community mission, but luckily Lorraine did one for us - it was a delightful surprise to catch up with her briefly as she arrived, having walked to the castle.
The show is on for one more evening; 20th November - if you'd like tickets, then they can be bought here or at the venue on the evening.
