Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Forget the Red Arrows! We had Red Thunder Damsel style this morning at Goodgym Bath for 6 sassy ladies for a 3 k run to St Marks in Widcombe to help prepare the ground for a community bike store and what s beautiful spring day.
The only obstacle was 4 Grave stones to work around but under the watchful eye of Alex the architect and a group of engineers from BuroHapold (who are supplying the metal frame for the bike store to sit on over the grave stones). We set to work helping dig 10 holes for the support footings and weeding the site ready for the next phase in two weeks time when the support frame will be put into place.
The two small graveyards here actually contain 6000 human remains and many of these were infants dating from 1820.
The Red Damsels proved their worth in the spade department, I hope we get to see the time lapse footage of the task. We spent just over an hour helping on this one and only one hole left to finish when our time was up, although it did contain the remains of an old tree and Emily and Sophie were losing the battle of the roots. Pascale and Emma taking the weeds to their graves whilst Mary and Steph dug for anything if interest. A bit of Boomerang for a group photo and some tea and biscuits before the short run back.
Thanks Emily and Pascale to covering the run out whilst I hobbled over.... cheers girls!!
