Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day. This is the song that we all sang as we bounded over and around the puddles on route to SW1s Community Radio Station.
We all debated as to whether or not it was cold enough to warrant a hat and wet enough to warrant a jacket. These my friends are the complex problems that runners must address on a day to day basis. What would you do? I’ve noticed that the longer that I have been running, the less clothes I appear to wear and for this very reason I will continue to fight off this change in weather with minimalist attire.
As we weaved our way through the Royal Parks I noticed that the amount of runners out on the streets had fallen significantly and those who were out clearly didn’t agree with my shorts shorts way of life. We saw gloves, snoods, hats, puffy jackets and a beautiful pair of waterproof trousers just before we arrived at our destination.
Up the steps we went, grabbed the ladders, grabbed the tools and we were off. Moistened the walls with some wet sponges and began to peel off the remaining under layer and last bits of uneven plaster.
Its always interesting hearing what people think of the tasks that we get the opportunity to do. The best quote from last night was most definitely “This is strangely therapeutic” I have to say I agree. Decorating has never really been something I have loved but watching a room transform over a few weeks knowing that what you have done has helped someone else is most definitely rewarding.
Our time was up, we packed our tools, said our goodbyes and off we went. Some drills and intervals to keep our bodies honest and most importantly, lots of smiles.
Thanks for your help folks. Please continue to do small things with great love.
