Report written by Bristol runner
And they sat down at the great table and feasted on all manner of treats, telling tales of the day that had passed. But our day started many hours earlier with three cars bringing gifts to Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds. So let’s rewind....
We three cars of Bristol oooh ahhh. Bearing gifts (Goodgymers) we travelled so far.
Rain rain go away, come again another day. After sheltering in the cafe we all made our way to the start. Hello Santa, hello Santa, hello Santa. Squeeak. The rain had certainly made the course squelchy with some nice muddy ditches but this just made it more fun. Up and down hills, making the choice of 5k or 9k then negotiating the field of lost shoes we all loved the run. Some great results today with some top 10 finishes and special congratulations to Alexis (1st female and 2nd overall in 5k) and Alex (3rd place female in 8k).
All tired but buzzing from the run we made our way for food. There was no Lion Inn this morning with such an early start but thanks Richard Breakspear for booking it after the run in our own private room. As we talked about the day we wondered what was really in the wardrobe? The staff didn’t know, but were they lion?
A great day out with amazing people in the beautiful setting of the Cotswolds. Until next year. Hohoho.
George the Hamster.
