Juli and Sheila answered a call to go to the home of Mrs D to help out in her garden. The leylandii trees from next door were encroaching on her garden and threatened to destroy her fence. Although she had been told to expect two lads, we hoped that two lasses would do! We set about with loppers and secateurs, and soon had the situation under control. Mrs D came out into the garden and regaled us with stories from her youth as we worked. Once we had finished, the fence had magically reappeared, and all the clipping tidied away. The lasses had done good! Mrs D was surprised to hear that we expected no remuneration, and was very grateful for our efforts
