Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lucy Hill
Jonathan and I met in sunny Chiswick for our second mission together of the week. Far from the threatening rain that came with saturdays task, we were met with glorious sunshine as we knocked on the door to Mr E’s house.
Mr E was unfortunately in hospital, and was due to be discharged soon. He had had a bed moved downstairs, but this would need to be transported back upstairs and a sofa moved to make space for a brand new hospital bed instead. We were greeted by barking, as a friendly old boy showed his face, followed by Mrs R (Mr E’s wife).
She showed us the bed and sofa, and Jonny and I got to work, moving the bed frame up first of all, followed by the mattress into the spare room, and without taking anything out on the way (never before have I had to tell anyone to ‘mind that chandelier’, but today Jonny was the first!). The sofa was then carefully manoeuvred around the corner into the study next door. All of this was of course completed with several ‘who’s a good boy’ and petting sessions for O the dog!
Mrs R was most grateful for the help, and thanked us, whilst O gave us a woof of appreciation as we left. Another good deed complete-bed and dogged!
