Report written by Derby runner
Gwyn and Tracey volunteered at the monthly dementia-friendly cafe hosted by the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation, Monday Mates, colourfully decked out in GoodGym red, and two pairs of odd socks...
We arrived in good time to help with the setting up; making sure that the tables and chairs were set out, and that there was plenty of hot water for the teas and coffees, and discussing the theme for this month's session - the seaside. Once people arrived, there were puzzles, painting and some games for everyone to join in, with lots of smiling faces as we all got to know one another. There was also a seaside quiz. Do you know what is (allegedly) the most popular ice lolly?
We managed two group fitness sessions; cycling to the venue, and also called in at Alvaston park for a Freedom parkrun afterwards. We only got rained on twice!
Why not join us next time?
