REAL PEOPLE! MAKING EYE CONTACT! RUNNING TOGETHER!
For the first time in over 3 months, six of the GoodGym Liverpool crew hit the streets together, for a socially distanced training session.
Run hills on a Friday, feel smug all weekend!
On a hot and sticky evening, the 6 runners gathered IN REAL LIFE. We were all thrilled to see each other and after a quick natter and chance to admire Sam's jazzy new trainers, we did a not-much-needed warm-up and a gentle 1km run to the bottom of what I like to call 'The Toxteth Mountain'! We started attacking those hills by running a series of 8 hill sprints, working hard on those fast twitch muscle fibres and our explosive energy.
Now it was time to work on our pacing over long, slow inclines. We tackled Park Street and then used the flat and down hill section to the bottom of Northumberland Street as recovery. Northumberland is a BIG one but the whole team paced themselves marvelously and made it to the top without the need to stop. Finally we tackled the less steep Warwick Street but ended the hill, and the session, with a final push of explosive energy.
Amazing work team!
It was so lovely to see you all in real life and I can't wait to do it all again soon <3
