Well done to Georgeta, Sophie, Nicola and Juli, who joined me for this evening's group run and litter pick.
We met up at the Town Hall and started the evening with a warm up jog and some dynamic stretches around the amphi-theatre. Then we headed off for our run, a 4km loop out into the lovely Braywick Nature Reserve and then back into town just as we lost the light. We then collected our litter picking kit from my car and hit the town.
We focussed on the High Street, St Ives Road, the Amphitheatre, Providence Place and West Street. This was a bit of an experiment to see whether the town centre was in need of more TLC from GoodGym and we are pleased to report that the High Street was pretty clean. We did find that a few people had abandoned their takeaways at the Amphitheatre though, and there was also lots of rubbish along West Street, where some of the high street shops have their loading bays and bins.
At the end we attracted some funny looks while we did our stretches, then bundled everything we had collected into 1 big bag, which I took home to put in my bin.
Well done on another great effort team!
