Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lambeth runner
This sunday afternoon, Lucy and I met not too far away from our Lambeth group run meeting point of Papa's park. Mrs L. needed a hand to do the finishing touches in her garden as a couple of GoodGymers had already been to do some weeding the week before.
After making a start at cutting back the ivy, we quickly realised that it would be hard work. Half an hour of non-stop cutting later, the ivy was nicely trimmed back to the wall. At that point, we received a visit from a beautiful small robin who seemed to be really looking forward to us raking the ivy off the ground so that he could hopefully find something to eat.
The robin stayed with us for the rest of the mission, overlooking our work, as a proper French work inspector (only paid to look at other people work :).
For nearly an hour we focused on removing the moss on Mrs L.'s patio, even though it was hard not to take more pictures of the robin.
It felt really satisfying to complete this task and fill 3 large bags of garden waste. We left Mrs L. happy and thankful.
