Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Laura Williams
What’s the story?
A fantastic four-session Community Mission was accomplished today in Chicksand Street Park as Bablu from Trapped in Zone One hosted us yet again for another vital, uplifting bit of activity.
Having helped prep the wall recently for the first part of this task, a new mural, in partnership with Tower Hamlets Homes, we headed back today to help the artists Coma and Luke Smile actually paint the wall, helping to fill in around the letters, saving the artists time while enjoying seeing the creation of this new creative community addition take shape.
We were joined by Tulio from Care4Calais, who was accompanied by Mansour and Mortada, new Bethnal Green residents, who helped get the trickier borders of the mural done with great care and precision.
It was a safe, spacious activity but one that helped put a spring in everyone’s step.
A massive thank you to Becs, for co-leading this task, and for helping to plan this from last week!
...And to all other five GoodGymers present, who were very generous in taking turns painting, having made long journeys on foot and bike across town.
Until next time
Well done everyone – yet again your productivity, cheer and tenacity brought so much to the day. Until next time.
'Our philosophy is to build strong partnerships with community groups and organisations, and support our artists, whether it’s their first steps in the art world, or if they’re established already.'
