A volunteer stint at City Harvest’s Acton warehouse was slightly downbeat. Most of the lockdown shifts have been sunny and super busy but a wet Monday morning and the absence of a big Amazon delivery meant things were more subdued.

Even so, there was plenty to do. There was a huge delivery scheduled for Unit 28 (the drinks and dry goods warehouse) so we were sorting and clearing cans, bags, bottles and boxes to make space for a huge new delivery due in. This turned out to be pallet after pallet stacked up with boxes of Old El Paso tortilla chips.

It makes me want to Go home and cook fajitas for supper.
