Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Great things happen when 9 dedicated runners brave the rain, eager to get elbows-deep in some Mare Street mud and fag ends. And so return we did to the Narrow Way, Hackney to crack on with planter emptying that started a few weeks ago. With all the plants having been lovingly trans-planted to new homes, all that remains is several tonnes of soil to be dug, scooped and barrowed into big bags for collection.
Off we went, first to the estate to get tooled up.
A fun warmup of "KNEES - HEELS - JUMP - TURN - TOUCHDOWNRIGHT - KNEES - (etc) in London Fields got everyone sweating in their now redundant shower-proof jackets and off we went, first to the estate to get tooled up before running-while-carrying-tools-and-fastidiously-observing-health-and-saftety-best-practice back to Mare Street to get digging.
The team made light work of filling a couple of tonne bags with dirt and headed off into the night for a moderately paced run back to base and leg blaster before stretching out. An unprecedented 100% turn out at the pub after was surely testament to the well earned thirst shared by all.
See you next week. x
