SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael
Sunday has come again which means a trip to StarGarAllot. Our task today, to move the tool shed over to another plot for a short 'shed holiday'.
Three goodgymers, our task organiser - Camilla were getting to work on moving the tool shed, currently residing in the orchard. Our first issue to solve - it appears to be bolted to the concrete slabs. So Karolina and Michael got inside the shed, ignoring the spider webs and nests and getting to work on removing the bolts.
Once it was free of the slabs it was time to move the shed, get it onto it's side and then onto the flat bed trolley.
Along the way, a helpful plot holder jumped in and gave us a hand keeping it stable along the way. Not the shortest of trips to the new plot, but we got to see a lot of nice allotments along the way. Arriving at the plot that was housing the shed (for now), we stopped to figure out how we were going to get over to the tree. We flipped the shed off the trolley, and wiggled it into place.
We made our way back to the community garden, and went to finish off our task. Now that the shed was gone, it was time to move the slabs. We also spotted some corrugated metal in the bushes that we could use on Tuesday, so in we went and out it came.
A sit down, relax and chat over some refreshments before heading home for the day.
Stargarallot Community Garden was created in 2018 by local residents as a community garden network covering the STAR area of Cardiff.
