2 GoodGymmers helped Luton's United Nation Association sail through the parade. On a windy day, GoodGym brought strong arms and a firm hold to keep the UNA's large banner from flying away with them. Supporting the Women's March for Peace members to dance, flag wave and show their elaborate costumes along the parade route safe in the knowledge that their beloved banner was in safe hands. The parade was attended by hundreds of local community members and covered by local and national media.
UNA-Luton is the Luton branch of the United Nations Association. We work in partnership with Equality in Diversity CIC and a wide variety of community organisations and statutory agencies to promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. We stand for equality, justice, peace, human rights, community cohesion, preserving the environment and combating climate change, the protection of minorities and the defence of national sovereignty against international aggression. We reject the attempts by terrorists, extremists, authoritarians and populists to divide societies by setting communities and faiths against each other and demonising refugees and asylum seekers. They will not succeed because the vast majority of people in Britain and across the world wish to live with mutual respect and in harmony.
