The Writing's On The Wall...Not Anymore!

Another Bank Holiday Monday, another unstoppable group of GoodGymers foregoing soggy BBQs and chilly pub gardens to come and do good in their local community. Bank Holiday Heroes, I applaud you!
Our mighty 11 ran 5km to help out Friends of Everton Park. We love going to Everton Park as it is such an enormous urban green space that needs a lot of love. And love it, we do!
We met John and the team who were ready for us with huge tubs of white emulsion and plenty of paint brushes. Our task was to start painting over a rather tired (and HUGE) mural that faces the main road. The wall is being painted white ahead of more a exciting paint job soon. The only problem is, the Friends of Everton Park haven't decided what that new paint job will be yet. So any top graffiti artists reading, please get in touch :)
Yesterday, most of the team had run the Liverpool Spring 10km, clocking some mighty fine times and having a lot of fun. This did mean there were some aches and pains for our Group Run, but nobody grumbled and everyone dug in. What a team!
This week's shout out goes to Yan who ran her first 10km race yesterday but still bounded into GoodGym full of energy. Also a big hello and welcome to Lousie, whose excellent painting skills were put to use. We'd love you to run with us again soon.
We covered around 30 metres of the huge wall in just 30 minutes. What a result!
Given how hard the runners had worked at yesterday's race, our fitness session was just a quick game to get people moving. The run back to base was all downhill and everyone kept to a great pace.
NEXT WEEK we're at the Greenhouse Project doing some tidying and gardening in their lovely outdoor area. So come on down and bring a friend.
P.S. Kudos to Tim for providing the inspiration behind this week's title pun.
