Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gosia Rybacka
Time for a grand spring cleaningย ๐๐ฑ๐ณ๐๐! Paul and Gosia met up in Wandsworth today to help Mrs M in getting her garden cleared of garden waste ๐ก. The waste is collected by the council next week and today needed some runners to bag stuff up.
"From the description, it sounds like an easy job to do! ๐" - said Gosia just before knocking on the front door. Mrs M opened the door and welcomed us warmly. She gave us instructions on what needs to be done and gave 4 x brand new 10-packs of waste bags (which at that moment seemed a lot).
We went to the garden together and it didn't take much time to notice a massive pile of waste (or let's call it a mountain โฐโบ) right in a corner. All gathered from old wood, weeds and grass cuttings. It also looked like it was there for some time now with just a few bits still looking green and fresh.
Both of us instantly realized it will be a bigger challenge than expected but without a single word of complaint (this is our style ๐!) we quickly started to work on the task.
We grabbed one bag each and started to collect stuff with our hands. So glad we both brought our own gloves. The whole task was very simple but just time-consuming. Only armies of bugs ๐ and few ticker brambles gave us a bit more challenge but - as we are true professionals - they just couldn't stop us in getting the job done.
We were working with a nice speed ๐ and collected 24 x bags in total which took us a bit more than one hour.ย This was exactly the number we were aiming for as the council will be collecting them in 12 per round. There is still at least twice that much to collect so it would be worth to consider scheduling another mission there anytime soon.
Mrs M was really glad and thankful for our help, she seemed to be interested in GoodGym and things we may be able to help her with in the future.
