Three Goodgymmers, Daryl, Keith and Lea, made their way to the TOSH community garden to do some more grouting. Well, first of all the VERY tedious job of cutting bits of masking tape to protect the tiles, leading to the above song “🎶 There must be a better way 🎶” sung by the Goodgym duet: Keith and Daryl. So tuneful that Lea nearly decided to turn her hearing aids off. After the groaning came the very satisfactory grouting!! Piping bags filled, gloved fingers to the ready and heyho that went very fast! Melinda though, being very fastidious, kept seeing bits that needed more attention even in the wall we did this summer… now all we need to do is 🤞🤞🤞 that the rain doesn’t wash all the grout away tonight. Weather forecast not looking too good. But another job finished with Melinda very happy and already thinking up new jobs! YAY, thanks for your hard work Goodgymmers.
Our community garden will offer free, accessible public learning, teaching and reflection space to our community, a community that is largely underserved and would greatly benefit from this. We have funded a garden coordinator who has developed a garden design in collaboration with our locals, and we are now relying on volunteers attending guided sessions to bring the garden to completion - and always need extra hands, particularly for hard labour jobs like laying our recycled brick path!
