After a ride through heavy rain, and a detour around the park to avoid flooded paths, I arrived at the house of Mrs M. She had organised bags, money and a list in a plastic tub, and a pen for me to mark off items on her list.

We hit it off straight way, and found that we had a number of things in common., including both being originally from Liverpool. Mrs M and I talked for a while about various places that we both know.

She was also keen to talk about her grandfather, who served during WWI, and in his younger days, was a marathon runner.

I headed off to Aldi, a 10 minute ride away, spent an hour picking up the shopping, and headed back.

We had another good chat, during which we discovered more common ground, including the fact that we both like to decorate our garden with novelty items 😁👍
