Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

On Tuesday, 21 runners headed off to a community park in St Pauls to help them with shifting a massive pile of manure to some flower beds desperately in need of dung!

Due to the Folk House being closed, we met in an underground car park where there were absolutely no shady goings on what so ever. The car park contained a big storage locker that I (Pru) had the key for, so our kit was safe and sound for the duration of the run.

And what a run it was! We were joined by new girl Beth, who'd long ago inspired her brother Ted to come along but this was the first time she'd been able to see what she'd roped him in to. Big welcomes to Beth! The team set a great pace once we'd escaped the car park and we were soon slack-jawed in awe of possibly the best climbing frame in Bristol. I could tell that everyone was itching to let out their inner child (which is rarely buried in most GoodGymers, as shown when we head to the Scrap Store!), but there was poop to scoop, leaves to lift, and dung to be flung so we all set to it.

This felt like a true Good Gym task - a massive pile of something to be moved from one place to another as fast as possible. Wheelbarrow racing has now been redefined to include actual wheelbarrows, and the team shoveling the manure became like a well trained F1 pit crew, although I suspect that the pit lane doesn't smell quite as bad, especially once we got near the bottom of the pile.

Other teams were moving leaves around to be composted down, spreading the manure once it had reached its destination, and doing other bits and bobs around the site.

At the end, it seemed that the mound of manure was too big and it didn't all get moved, but fear not, GoofGym friends - we're heading back again for another stab at it this week - and you've just got that poo off your shoe? Well, there's plenty more where that came from and I'm sure you share my excrement... sorry, excitement at another chance to manhandle some meadow muffins. Plus we have a back up pun (Manure Manouvers) so we can us that for the next run.

Well done gang!

Note that I've added in a holding photo of some manure whilst I try and get my new PC to realise that my phone is attached and it can download some pictures for your viewing pleasure
