This week 10 marvellous GoodGym-ers ran 5km to help set up a new community project in Down Lane Bowling Green.

Shout out to GG tourist Hazel, who is on her 99th run!

After a quick intro recapping the events from this weekend's shindig, celebrating my new role as your permanant trainer and welcoming you all to our 101st ever run, it was time to warm up. We starting with a game of finger fencing with a burpee forfeit.

We then set off on our long route (accidentally longer than intended so we could cross at the zebra crossing – sorry) to the nearby park. Dave took charge of back-marking.

Georgie, Claire and Ollie all had goes racing the scooter and we decided to set up some Strava segments.

Laura met us at the green and quickly dished out tasks, including: raking the grass; litter picking; vaccuming the carpets; washing the floors, chairs and changing rooms; and moving furniture around. In typical GG fashion the team made quick work of it all, finishing in time for a quick game of ultimate frisbee on the green before heading back.

As we stepped out of the green there was an emergency rescue mission to retrieve a football stuck in a tree. GoodGym can't leave a local in distress, so got to work trying to get it down. Ollie climbed onto Dave to try and poke it with a stick, but they couldn't quite reach. So Hazel located the branch to hang off to see if that would do the trick. We were getting somewhere. In all the excitement I didn't quite clock who had the final tug, but the ball dropped and Ollie caught it. Everyone was very excited.

We then ran back to base, including a sprint up the cycle path, for a stretch and a debrief.

Thanks for making my first official run as leader such a treat, folks! Shout out to Claire for this week's pun! And to Cathy for completing the London Tri this weekend!

Don't forget about GoodGym vs Ally Pally this Saturday and the Long Run with Paul on Sunday.

Props to Hazel and Dave for doing the #BarnetBurpees of their own accord at the end of the session. Have you done your 30 today?

See you next week!
