I was given fair warning about this mission when I read the task description: buy a 10kg bag of rice at the big Chalk Farm Morrisons and lug it a mile down the road. Was I up to the challenge? Yes. Am I also a pint-sized human who doesn't like pain? Absolutely. So I was going to have to get creative. After hunting around in the basement of my flat nicknamed 'the black hole' for good reason, I came across the perfect piece of kit: a trolley, minus the actual bag bit. This I combined with my normal run-friendly rucksack to create a true Frankenstein's monster of a rice-carrying contraption. "Ta-da! What do you think?" I asked my flatmate. "Be careful you don't get carried off by a low-flying bird," she said. "They'd get good purchase on that handle." Brushing aside the question of where exactly in London my flatmate is seeing these giant avian species, I set off on my merry way to Morrisons. On the shopping list, baby food was the only accompaniment to the rice, all of which I found pretty easily, before paying up and trundling briskly with my improvised trolley all the way to Euston. Once I had dropped off the goods at Mr F's, I had a lovely run back through Regent's Park, returning home in one piece and in time for dinner.
