I am fortunate enough to live within walking distance of this community mission as it was bashing it down with rain.

I arrived at Old Alleynian Rugby Club at 14:00 for the hour and a half mission for GROAD (Get Rid Of And Donate), but once the expected scheduled drop off happened I could leave as no one else was expected to drop-off items....especially on a day like today.

Sitting in the bar at the clubhouse, the rugby coaches were polishing off their drinks as we watched the build-up to the Italy vs England game. Just as the players were lining up for the national anthem, I could see outside that a man was coming up the drive with two bags....dragging them along. He came out to help and take the bags off him. It was a bag of jumpers and a massive bag of new pillows as he was giving them away as they were too soft for him.

Once that drop-off happened, I let Andrea (founder of GROAD) know and she coordinated with Helen (one of the coaches at the rugby club) to pick these up tomorrow!

Off I went home to catch the end of the first half of the Italy vs. England game! There's two more Sunday's at Old Alleynian Rugby Club for GROAD before it's only Edward Alleynian Club and St. Faith's (the original site).
