Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Elizabeth
Today, six GoodGymmers met up to litterpick around Camden.
With the last litter pick I organised having gone so smoothly that I might as well have reached Nirvana, I decided to put on my scientist hat and see if the results were repeatable in a new location (Red Lion Square Gardens).
Consequently, the first three people to turn up (Ben, John and Beth), aka Team Camden-you-are, got assigned the area west of the park. The remaining runners (Abi and Damian), aka Team Liz-ium, got Red Lion Square Gardens itself and everything that lay east of it.
Boundaries drawn, we got picking. We regrouped at the end to exchange tales and take a photo in front of a statue that potentially inspired John Travolta for his character in Saturday night fever (who can say what might have been? 🤷♀️)
Team Camden-you-are were a bit silent on the litter-picking front, but they did find a potential new recruit in the form of a stranger inspired by their plogging efforts. I suspect that John was the lure, as I've plogged with him before and he's a machine with a grabber 🤖
Team Liz-ium wandered and inspected things very closely with a scientific mien to determine what was recyclable and what wasn't. Although we didn't knowingly inspire anyone to join GoodGym in the same way that John did, we did get asked if someone could put their rubbish directly into one of our bin bags, so that's almost the same thing 😅
With January coming to a close, we're unlikely to have many plogging sessions in the near future, but will have lots of other tasks to do! Find out what's happening in Camden here! 😎

To be fair, it was really Beth who instigated the recruitment, with a little help from Ben and me.

Ever modest :) That was a lovely active lunchtime.
