What an amazing day today!
I think every runner was out and about in Slough/Langley/ Iver/Northolt and Windsor.
A day to remember guys ... 4th October 2020... when Run Leader Ricky and Spartan Harsha ran their first Virtual London Marathon.
They absolutely smashed it today making it look too easy, with our most experienced runner Manjit supporting them throughout training with advice and pure determination/sweat/aches/late running/ no LIFE haha we knew Ricky/ Harsha would absolutely Splash Splash SMASH it.
Team Manjit met at the Copper Horse, Windsor to make sure everyone was warmed up and ready to start, setting off at 9.05am making an ETA at Upton Court for 9.40am where Kam/Ruth/Sandy/Nisha/Pam and Manjit were waiting to cheer them on.
I hear Manjit was stuck at the railway bridge just typical could of ran and got here quicker....but she did make it to Upton just in time to see Ricky, Harsha and support crew Mo, Taj and the bikers come by!
Mo and Taj were amazing as they ran with Ricky and Harsha all the way to the Langley College from Windsor.
Ricky's work colleagues also rode beside them all the way to Northolt, I call them the Hairy Bikers but no food was offered just water.... deep heat and music!
Sutyee met up with them by Langley College, here we waved goodbye to Taj and Mo. (She just made it with few minutes to spare sshh)
Harsha left Ricky by Iver Roundabout continuing her remainder distance with Team Iver, Naomi/Sandy joined us they did amazing Naomi ran 7K the furthest she has done.
Ricky made his way back towards Cowley then Hillingdon ... all the way to Northala Fields finishing the 5K Park Run route for his final 7 miles with Manjit.
Absolutely amazing what you have both achieved we are all so proud of you...you are now OFFICIAL MARATHON RUNNERS whoop whoop.
Our Goodgymers also signed up to Frimley Health Charity... A great way to start the day cheering runners then running yourself, I think we all covered more than 5K even in the rain.
Pam and Kam ran Upton Court Park for their 5K run, just ONE photo of our lovely runners hmm think we need to teach them to take photos more often.
Naomi, Sandy and Sut ran from Harsha's house to cover our 5k distance... I think Sandy and I spent more time taking our phones out of our pockets than running. My watch was on 8.90miles so we decided to round this up to a 9.
“What’s a little bit more right”??
Manjit ran on Thursday by Copas Farm... hhm let see your Strava evidence! Were you running after any animals? Or eating Strawberries for 3 miles?
Well done to everyone who braved it out today running or supporting.
Enjoy the photos
