Rakin Steven's back to This Ole House!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Saturday, 18th of November 2017
'twas a grey day when the dream team of Beth "500, not out" Hoskins, Steve "customised gloves" Lee and I reunited to help a familiar neighbour
Steve and I had been to this house before when we did the first of two visits to clear the garden.
You had one job!
Today was supposed to be about laying the artificial grass but, alas, the turf hadn't been ordered yet!
Not to worry, our hosts wanted us to get the garden ready so we focused on clearing space by removing weeds and applying some weed killer. Beth and I took hand tools to uproot the weeds while Steve grabbed the rake to give the garden a comb over.
Separating the weeds from the stuff
When weeding a garden you normally expect to remove weeds, but Steve came across a big hunk of metal.
We were still talking about the GG London Christmas party (past antics and costume ideas) and the upcoming Mission Possible, which we know will be good seeing as it's organised by Mr Tom Benson. Check it out!
Not a good bye, but a see you later
The rain came and it was a good time to call it a day. We'd cleared two bags of tiny but intrusive weeds and earned our treats (football for Steve and a catch up over food for the other two of us).
Just before we left, Beth and I were asked to measure up the garden so that the right amount of turf could be ordered for next time. I'm sure it's going to look brilliant when it's laid down and especially compared to the jungle we saw a few weeks previously.
