Mrs M was quite cheerful today; it sounded like the visit from one of the local Age UK staff had made her week. We chatted for about 20 minutes before she gave me her list. I’m getting quite good at reading Mrs M’s handwriting, but the last item on the list had me stumped (any guesses anyone?!) I had a wild stab in the dark and came up with mackerel, which made Mrs M chuckle rather a lot… it was in fact Viakal, which is a brand of cleaning spray. It’s nice that these shopping missions still teach me things 🤷🏻‍♀️😂.

With that conundrum resolved I popped to Tesco, and then followed up with Sainsburys to collect green beans & wholemeal pittas which completed the shop. After a quick goodbye on the doorstep, I dropped off some food that Mrs M had prepared for one of her neighbours & headed back to work with the red bean buns she insisted I take with me.
