Hot footing it from cutting Mrs P’s lawn, I headed back to Mr R’s house to finish of the work that Matt and I had started a couple of weeks ago.

The task was to cut back and down three bushes (one of which I thought I’d already finished but clearly hadn’t lowered it enough to let plenty of light into the front room).

Matt actually scooted by, resplendent in his new black GG tshirt, on his way to a shopping task, so we’d really got The Mead covered this morning. Sadly, Mr R was inside having a cuppa at the time so wasn’t able to say “hi!”

Having performed major surgery on the bushes, next up was the real challenge - fitting this weeks cuttings and the remainder of the palm tree that we had cut down and unearthed last time, into the green bin!

One thing I have become rather good at over the past few years is climbing into a green bin and jumping up and down to compact the garden waste but I knew this was going to be a challenge particularly as Mr R had come out to join me and have a chat in the sunshine.

No matter, with some sawing and hacking of the remainder of the palm tree (boy those leaves are long!) and much compressing of the other garden waste the bin was filled and the lid was shut. Lots of celebrating by me, with fist pumps and high fiving the air around me, much to the bemusement of Mr R!

It’s been a lovely way to start my weekend! 😎
