Marta, Lucia and Gosia met up in Southwark in the Saturday afternoon to help out Mrs M to provide a general tidy-up for her garden.

The weather was a bit rainy, but this grey gloomy mood was quickly overcome by a warm welcome that Mrs M gave just as we arrived at her door 😉. She explained us what she would like us to do for her - dealing with blackberry bushes (which went absolutely wild when not being cut off regularly) and clearing out a garden bed. Then she gave an access to a shed with some right-fit tools in it.

Marta and Gosia kicked off with the blackberry wilderness. When Mrs M initially asked us if we need gloves, we confidently said we have our own pairs, but just as we started the task we realized that an additional layer won't be such a bad idea at all 😮. The bushes were super spiky and really tangled i.e. when we tried to pull out one it seemed to be taking three other bushes with it. Bit by bit - we successfully cut down all of them creating a massive pile of brambles in the center of the garden. We will deal with it later!

In the meantime Lucia took on a task of dealing with the weeds in the garden. It was going very nice especially with a handy tool Mrs M had in her shed. Lucia proceeded with her task but - from time to time - she needed to dodge the spiky brambles flying around.

In the final stage of our mission, all four of us - including Mrs M - were were transforming the brambles to more manageable bits, chatting along. Eventually, everything went to the waste bins ready for the weekly collection.

All of us were very happy with the outcome of the mission. Mrs M offered us staying for a coffee or tea but we couldn't stay much longer. She was very thankful for our help and gave us a big hug just before we left.
