Chris and I headed to Southwark for a Saturday afternoon mission. In anticipation of losing an hour as the clocks go forward this evening, we decided to make the most of an hour that we had this afternoon.

Our job was to help Mrs Y with the garden as she is no longer able to do this herself after suffering ill health.

The mission mostly involved ripping up weeds & pruning some very spiky brambles. We also collected litter that seemed to have blown in off the street.

The garden was full of wild garlic that gave a strong aroma throughout the task - Mrs Y wasn’t keen, but we quite liked it, and it definitely made me hungry - It’s clearly had an effect as I’ve used four cloves in my cooking this evening!

Mrs Y watched us from the window and was pleased to see the amount of garden waste that we getting removed from her garden. She now has a much nicer view from her bedroom.

Mrs Y may benefit from some runners returning to tackle the last of the brambles, and she is not quite sure yet whether or not the garlic should stay or go!
