A little low on numbers this evening but no shortage of enthusiasm.

5 of us did the short run to Scope - Mel drove, and Jim walked, but as we discovered, that was a ploy to stop the mince pies from getting broken!!!

We were met by the ever welcoming Liam who announced a slightly different task for this evening - wooh hoo!!! - Earlier in the day the shop had a big delivery from some of the clothes banks and the stock needed bagging up and bringing from the basement to the sorting cage - a nice bit of stair climbing exercise for Sharon and Jim.

The others sorted the loose items into good bags and the usual hilarity was enjoyed as the group inspected some of the items. Huw demonstrated beyond all doubt that as our new trainer elect he will be up for a laugh and is not averse to poking a bit of fun in his own direction as he skilfully modeled a pair of size 11 ladies high heels. Not wanting to be upstages Jim once again sported a selection of hats the most fetching of which was a formal "Royal Ascot" number that really did, "suit you sir"

In a very short timescale we had filled the sorting cage to capacity and tidied the holding pens so no loose clothing was lying about. With time to spare we set about our "usual" task of sorting the saleable items into categories. We loaded up about 10 bags and our time was up - once again very grateful thanks from Liam who told us what a massive help it is to them for us to do this.

On the run back we took a diversion suggested by Huw so that we could accompany Sharon to fetch her bike. Jim took a ride back with Mel and were first to make it to the Black Horse for our end of season drinks. The rain hadnt relented all night so the term drowned rats sprung to mind but the pub had a very festive roaring fire and Mel and Jim had ensured prime position so we could have a bit of a dry out over a pint or two.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone - it has been a pleasure and a privilege to be your trainer and I thank you all sincerely for your loyalty and support.
