9 keen Goodgym runners joined us for our inaugural "Track Attack" social trial this morning. Some of them ran to meet us, others cycled but Tracey wheeled a buggy containing Marley, our youngest member of our cheer squad!

We walked our way from Pavilion Coffee at the entrance of Victoria Park, to the old public track near the Greenway passage. Trainer Simon had set up some marker cones to indicate the finishing lines for our 1 mile and 5000m time trials (the track is exactly 400m if you ever wanted to give it a go yourself- 4 laps: 1 mile, 12.5 laps: 5000m).

5 of our runners lined up for our 1 mile TT, and absolutely smashed it! We had a collection of sub- 7 minute runners at the front, and everyone showed excellent consistency throughout the session. A cheer squad always helps when running fast in loops!

Afterwards, our remaining 4 runners gathered together (with adequate social distancing of course), and took on the 5000m challenge.

Our intial plan was to enjoy a picnic in the park, but we decided to enjoy some coffee at the Hub cafe instead (it was a bit grey and cloudy), whilst snacking on some peanut butter and jam sandwiches and fruit to aid our recovery after a hard session.
