The first step of the Spring-to-Summer 2023 switch lived up to previous efficiency, with a dedicated group of volunteers stripping garments from hangers at near-record speed, to be separately boxed and sent to the charity’s Wembley depot.

It’s all in the technique, you see; be it the successive double-pinch of the trouser or skirt hanger, to release the garment, or the step-laddering of the smallest volunteer into the clothes box to compress the contents!

Within only an hour, it was time to stack up and wheel all boxes toward the front of the now empty store, all ready for the arrival of summer.
