Abby and I returned to help Mr D with his garden - we'd enjoyed clearing it, earlier this year.

Abby revisited her pathological dislike of bay trees when Mr D said he plans to reduce or remove the bay in his garden, but she didn't get the chance to tackle it this time. Instead, she got to grips with the thorny brambles taking over one side of the garden.

Meanwhile I raked and bagged the piles of dead leaves across the garden, discovering a hidden patio.

We finished by planting a selection of bulbs in Mr D's front garden, as well as getting a masterclass in growing citrus fruits from green-fingered Mr D.

A warming way to spend a chilly December day.

This is part of our work to manage our churchyard in a more nature -friendly way, to increase biodiversity. The churchyard is often used by local dog walkers and is an oasis of green space in the area.
