Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
OLD SKOOL Garage Tunes, Spotty socks, Trolly dashing and Lift selfies...... Typical one for GG BRENT then?!?!?
It was cold, it was frosty, but there was energy in the air this past Monday eve. Something about the atmosphere screamed adventure and the GG BRENT team were definitely charged up for a whole lot of it.
Welcoming another one of Dan's lady recruits - The fabulous April, familiar faces stepped out into the night to brave the cold for the task at hand - The 1.7Mile Rush, down to Ashford Place Cricklewood.
Ashford place are an amazing community centre that support the vulnerable in the area of Brent and our job was to support them to spruce and sprinkle a little bit of GG sparkle into their midst.
There was no fear of sparkle and razzle dazzle when Dan revealed his array.... yes array or polka dot footwear! & Sadhana not to be outdone was rocking it in Luminous matching hat and knee sock combo - NICE!!
Meeting Danny on arrival we were all smiles and laughter and that was pumped up a gear when we discovered the awesomeness ahead - WE WERE PAINTING WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO
April, Laura and Holly set to work straight away with the rollers, while Dan, Ellie, Sadhana and Laura got up to some rolling of their own..... on trollies, in trollies, trollies in lifts, trollies up stairs....... There was just endless fun to be had in these trollies!!!!
While.... some of the team messed about, Catherine was hard at it and eventually the full team followed suit, carrying boxes of donations up and down stairs and unpacking in kitchens and storerooms around the centre.
To the soundtrack of Old Skool Garage tunes, the team powered on. Just enough time for one last lift selfie and a final coat of paint on the hallway......... and thats time!! Giving Danny a big hug and farewell, the team set off once more into the night.
Unbeknown to them coach Ellie had one final trick up her sleeve!!!! Oh yes - A lethal HIIT Session (that's High Intensity Interval Training don't cha know)
Hill sprints and lunges and more, oh my!!!! As many as they could manage in the final 10min blast!!! Incredible efforts and some excellent core strength was the ticket of the night!! All in preparation for Xmas Day feasting of course.
An amazing task, an amazing team and a whole lot of positivity and laughter....... Yes, another typical Monday for the most wonderful, nearly one year old...eeekkkkkk..... GOODGYM BRENT.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME!!!!!
DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPRE.
