Report written by Tom (Harman) Hinton
190 runners turned up to take on the monthy Longshaw 10k. With lots of people parking in the car park and staying around after the run to buy coffees in the cafe , this really does help to keep the free, volunteer led event going!
Thanks to the National Trust volunteers, who put on another great event. A new start was introduced, which seemed to easy bottle necking and queuing at the kissing gate. With a good turn out from the GG team, we battled through the course ( some if us with hangovers from the festivals happening in Sheffield), starting from the lodge, we headed down passed to boat pond, through the woods, up the fields and back along the track to the lodge.... and the back round again. At the end of the run, we met at the finish line, injury free (except for Sam, who decked it whilst engrossed in a conversation with Tom about trains on the second lap) we headed to the cafe for coffee and cake.
Big shout out to Bee, Gill and Ben, who completed their first Trust10!
...and hats off to Chris W for setting a personal best!
