I’d arrived at Mrs C’s house expecting a bit of light weeding, but it turned out that she had other plans.

She’d decided that she didn’t want the small patch of grass outside the front of her house any more and would prefer to lay some membrane and slate to which she would add some plants.

To my delight she produced a small mattock (many a GoodGymer’s favourite tool) and asked if I could remove the turf for her - that would be my pleasure I replied and 90 minutes or so later the area was clear of grass and weeds and it was time for a cuppa and some cake, before heading off.

Already looking forward to Part 2 to lay the membrane and put down the slate!
