Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
15 lovely runners headed out to St Agnes Park in St Pauls where we had loads of leaves to clear, flower beds to turn over and then leaflets to deliver too.
We had been joined by 2 newbies (big hearty welcome to John and Amy!) as well as some returners as well as our regulars, and it was a great run along the river Frome, under the M32 and in to the glorious park of St Agnes.
We were split in to several teams and quickly set to, picking up loads of leaves (pesky trees!) and running with them in buckets to a very large compost area where they'll gently turn into lovely mulch for the flower beds. We may have had a quick go on some of the play equipment.... checking it was working, of course.
Another team dug in with forks to turn over the soil of the flower beds in the park so that the soil becomes aerated and will be better for growing plants once spring truly comes along (soon, please!).
Once our allotted time had expired, we left St Agnes park to race around the local streets popping flyers through doors to invite people to a climate change march.
With that mission accomplished, we ran back to the Folk House, happy that our work there was done!
We have a saying in Bristol GoodGym - it never rains on GoodGym. This fact was proven when, about 5 minutes after the group had stretched and then said their farewells, the heavens opened and a deluge struck! Clearly the weather gods had been waiting patiently. Thanks, guys!
