Twas the night before lockdown and all through the park
No bird was singing - not even a lark.
The leaves were all scattered all over the floor
But that wasn't a problem for this red-shirted four.

Armed with a broom, a rake and a picker
They swept up those leaves and binned all the litter.
With two bin bags full, they had finished their deed
(And hadn't had to wonder 'is this is a weed?').

The night had turned cold and their teeth were achatter
So they set off, being thanked by the people at Papa's.
And I heard them exclaim, as they ran out of sight,
"Happy lockdown to all, and to all a good night!"
