Two task glory

We had a cracking run last night at GG Camden. In chilly conditions 28 people smashed between 5-7k, tidied a communal garden on the Somers Town Estate, and gave a charities office and undercoat. It will need that if the temperature gets an colder......sorry my Dad wouldn't even claim that joke.

Our Camden

10 people headed to paint an office in Kings Cross for Our Camden. They are great. They run a membership scheme for older people in Camden to prevent the onset of loneliness in retirement- connecting them with other people, organisations, local businesses and social opportunities in Camden. We went last week and started the job- sanding down in prep for the painting to take place. This week we got stuck in- laying down the first coat. Next week we will be back to lay down another!

St Marys Flats

The rest of the group headed to St Mary's Flats in Somers Town to help local resident Jon. We are helping him transform the communal gardens around the flats. We have been a few times over the last few months and its incredible the amount we have done. Today's task was to get right into the bushes and clear out any fallen leaves- they aren't doing much good there and are preventing water and light getting to the beds. It was harder work than it seemed but we smashed it. That left us enough time to head over to Kings Cross to pick up the painters on the way for a longer run....

A longer run

Over the last few weeks we have been trying a few different things on the run- trying some lung busting intervals and trying to run at a sustained tempo pace. But this week we kept it simple- we just went for a longer run! We all ran 5k but a large group decided to add an extra 2k by heading for a loop of Regents Park Inner Circle. We all made it back- tired, hungry, but warm from our nights toil. See you next week yeah.
