Dalton youngsters ready for school
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Uniform Exchange in Huddersfield.

Slightly nervously I set off for the DRAM Centre in Dalton this morning. No one else had signed up for the mission, I was going alone and I had said I could face paint!?! While eating breakfast I did a little research and decided I could paint a Spider-Man face and at a push a butterfly or Hello Kitty. I popped a few supplies in a bucket, donned my GoodGym T-shirt and off I went. Fortunately when I arrived Kate from Uniform Exchange said they may not need my face painting skills and could I help in the kitchen or with the uniforms. (Massive sigh of relief from me.) I opted to organise the three to four year old’s supplies. I can confidently say my clothes folding and arranging skills are better than my face painting ones. Kate gave us all a very inspiring pep talk and the doors opened to the general public. There wasn’t exactly the stampede of eager families ready to get their children togged up with new uniform for the start of school in September that I expected, although there was a steady stream of families bagging some lovely uniforms, enjoying crafts with Fair and Funky, getting their faces painted by the far more talented NCS volunteers and enjoying a free lunch.
