22 runners ran 7k, aerated 600 square metres of ground with digging forks, and shifted 28 barrows of compost

Last night 22 runners met at the Arch Gallery in Bethnal Green. After a warm up including high knees, high heels, and jogging on the spot, we set off. Pete and Alison led us out through the cold streets and Jessie backmarked to keep everyone together.

"enormous reel"

We arrived at the farm and were given 3 tasks to complete in 30 mins. There was a pile of compost that needed shifting to the opposite corner of the farm, an enormous reel to be moved, and two large fields which needed aerating with the tines of digging forks.

"absolutely delighted"

After 23mins the reel was moved, the compost shift was nearly complete and the aeration team had moved into a 3rd field which we never thought we'd get to. Katharine from the farm was absolutely delighted and said if we wanted to stop early and say hi to some 3 week old rabbits, we were welcome to.

"bundles of fur"

After stroking and cuddling some of the most insanely cute tiny bundles of fur, we set off again into the night. We jogged gently all together to reach the canal, and then the group opened up the pace, treating the Mare St bridge at the finish line. Each person pushing their own breathing until the final cooldown straight, from the bridge back the Arch.
