I was pre-warned by Vikki to wear longs as it's "really brambly" and I was not disappointed! Mr K used to be able to keep on top of his garden but with an ill wife he's not been able to for a long time now and it had gone rogue.

Vikki had already been once before and made some progress with a slightly scary looking scythe, and had come prepared with her own loppers this time. She set straight to it at the far fence, with our focus today on releasing the washing line from its brambly prison. Mr K helped us and we started hacking and snipping away. Awkwardly Mr K then accidentally snipped his own washing line down, but at least it was him not us!

Time flies when you're fighting giant brambles and we had soon made good progress in revealing the old garden path and cutting back about a metre or so. Meanwhile Vikki had worked her way through the jungle all the way round the fence, and we helped her get through the final bit to complete the circumnavigation, before packing up for the day.

Very satisfying if scratchy! More to be done.
