Report written by Katie Carew-Robinson (she/her)
The WhatsApp group was buzzing on Wednesday night with runners and walkers getting out in the evening.
The grey weather that turned to rain was definitely not enticing so the accountability of the group definitely made the difference to motivation.
Rachel said it was 10% willpower and 90% community getting her out of the door.
Katie L was first out, still in the light and giving us to info on wind direction so we could plan accordingly.
Kat had sat down on her return from work but then felt the need to go out. Perhaps peer pressure wasn't such a good thing for her as a pulled muscle turned her run to a damp walk home. Heal fast Kat! She did take some lovely wet road photos though!
Jo and Lynn met up for a wet seafront walk with plenty of miles covered.
Judy was the only person to stay dry... The sun always shines in Southbourne!
Sinéad won best animal spot when she saw a toad in Festing Road. Was it one from the toad party in Jo's garden though?
Rosie was very pleased to be putting the GG tshirt on and timed her run perfectly to get home in time for dinner cooked by Aaron. I also arrived back after my run to the smell of curry cooking in our kitchen.... Winning!! 😁
Ellie was quiet on the group but no doubt running somewhere scenic in the New Forest and not wanting us to feel jealous!
As always, great efforts all round and probably a lot more walks and runs than there would have been if we hadn't had each other cheering us on. Teamwork makes the dream work!!
